Canadian March Housing Starts Rise

Downtown Toronto Condos Downtown Toronto Condos adding to the Canadian housing starts in March, an increase of 13.7 per cent or 154,700 new units when one month figures are calculated yearly.

The Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation ( CMHC ) welcomed a bit of good news amid all the gloom of economic slowdowns in several provinces along with the general global credit meltdown.

CMHC advises the increase were broad ranged with multiple and single segments showing increases.

Apartment buildings and Condominiums in cities and towns with populations in excess of 10,000 jumped by 28 per cent and single unit starts increasing by 1.3 per cent in March signaling a positive trend for overall home building.
